The Market Does Not Decide What Is True About Soil
The demand side describes what the market values; it does not determine ecological truth. A requirement, the evidence, the evaluation and the resulting assertion stay distinct, even when a market chooses to reward a condition.

A buyer can pay more for grain from fields whose soil is improving. That does not make the buyer an authority on soil.
The Regenerative Systems Model (RSM) draws this line into its architecture. The capability side of a regenerative system describes what participants and living systems are, have, can do and have observed. The demand and value side describes what markets need, value, require, reward and are prepared to commit to. The earlier systems-map document makes the separation normative: the capability side must not define what the market should value, and the demand side must not define ecological truth. Wellzai's formation design repeats it where money meets evidence. The market describes what it values; it does not determine ecological truth, even when it chooses to reward a particular observed or asserted condition.
So when a market requires a condition, four distinct things are in play. There is the requirement. There is the ecological evidence, held by whoever governs it. There is an evaluation, applying an explicit predicate under authority. And there is the resulting assertion, which may say the requirement is satisfied, not satisfied, indeterminate, unauthorized or not applicable. The RSM protocol lists "requirement is not ecological truth" among its canonical invariants.
The implication is that a premium can be attached to an assertion without the market owning, or redefining, the evidence beneath it.
The open question sits at the edges. Evidence about living systems is often indeterminate, and the model insists that unknown is not false. A premium, though, is usually either paid or not. What happens to a premium when the evidence is indeterminate, and who bears the cost of an honest "we do not yet know"?
